WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Mission

We exist to love God, love people, and connect the two. Based on Jesus’ great commandment (Matt. 22:37-40) and His great commission (Matt. 28:19-20), our purpose is to:
  • Love God with complete devotion
  • Love people by meeting needs
  • Live Holy Spirit empowered lives
  • Live as disciples of Jesus, who disciple others

Our Core Values

We live by the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. We believe the Bible is absolute truth and shows us how to live a life fully committed to Christ.

We are devoted to prayer and worship.

Prayer and worship are foundational. We believe God moves in a powerful way when we purpose to pray and worship Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

We do church together.

Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, meet together often, and encourage one another. “In a Group, On a Team” is something you’ll hear often at New Hope. There are no ‘lone rangers’ in God’s Kingdom… We all do our part and we need each other.

We live discipleship.

Jesus told us in Matthew 28 to make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to obey Him. We live to tell others about Jesus, and how they can have a relationship with Him. In making disciples, we believe family is foundational. Parents are the primary teachers in their children’s Christian education and discipleship. The discipleship and care of our children and youth are a top priority.

We exercise spiritual gifts.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as described in the Book of Acts (specifically Acts 2). We believe all gifts of the Holy Spirit are necessary and are given to encourage of the Body of Christ and to share the Good News of Jesus.

We reach out to the hurting
and the lost.

People matter to God, so they matter to us. We believe evangelism is crucial. We must get outside the “four walls” of our church building and bring the Good News to the hurting and the lost… locally and around the world.

The Foursquare Church

New Hope Christian Fellowship is part of a much bigger global family of believers known as the Foursquare Church. Started in 1923 by Aimee Semple McPherson in Los Angeles, Foursquare grew in 65 short years to 15,000 churches throughout 63 countries. As of 2011, we are joined with 8,729,566 other members in 66,145 churches in 141 countries.
